EBEW: Boots

These are my best boots.  They were handmade in Spain, are comfortable, fit perfectly, and are waterproof.  I'm pretty sure I'm not lying about that first or last part.  I first fell in lurve with them at one of my neighborhood shoe stores.  I couldn't afford them.  I eventually received an email coupon from the store that was keeping them ransom safe.  Then they went on sale!  HAHA!  Mine!  They are still probably the most expensive shoes I own. Wait... Mental inventory.  Yes. They are.  But the cost per wear will absolutely make these worth it... if I wear them once a week, four months of the year... for the next twelve years? That can't be right... I better double check my math.

Daily Details:
- weather: rainy
- coat, cost $120 divided by 20 uses = approximate current cost per wear (accpw) $6
- dress, thrifted, accpw $0.50
- leggings, accpw less than $1
- boots, local, accpw $7
- ethical ensemble evaluation: B

  2. I totally believe in spending all of what you can on waterproof boots where we live. It's sink or swim in the closets of Seattle!! I wear a lot of Ecco and La Canadienne boots because of this. You won't regret a single moment in those.

    1. Ah, yes, I envy your La Canadienne boots. My calves are apparently too chunky to fit into their gorgeous waterproof creations. I've tried multiple times!

  7. Absolutely gorgeous (and funny!) and now I'm suffering from boot envy.

I love boots. They don't love me back. *sniff, sniff* As for waterproof boots, they are worth their weight in gold!

  8. brilliant boots are hard to find, I sure know that. but I have noticed that when I wear a pair of boots for like 5 years then those boots are not so warm anymore and they get tired if I can say so.
anyway, I like your coat a lot! fits you so well.

  10. I think a good pair of boots is a solid investment. I bought some new ones last fall and wore them almost every day and they only have a few scuffs now.

You look so cute and I love that striped sweater dress :)

  11. They are very nice boots! In fact they look really really similr to the most expensive pair of boots I have ever bought. I bought them for £60 in the sale (£120 originally) Must get them reheeled! Your dress is really pretty!

  15. Those boots are gorgeous and you really will get the cost per wear down. My Born boots were expensive too, but I've had them for 5 years and they're probably down to pennies/wear now.

    Also, I love that dress!

  16. Those boots look great for lasting winters. I think that a good pair of boots is worth a solid investment. Sadly last year I bought a super expensive pair of boots and then the zip broke so my own logic failed me. I'm sure yours will last fine though! Ignore my sad boot-fail story.

  23. some things are worth the investment. i believe in that. handmade, waterproof boots are a must and they are a beautiful. never feel guilt for spending that money. and that coat too. i love it.

ps. i really love your accrued cost per wear. that's always how i think of things. i do own a pair of flats that cost me...a lot. we'll say that. they've lasted 6 years and i've worn them too many times to count. i like to think of things like that. i dont' know if i have told you this - or at least not enough, how much i appreciate that about your blog
