Oprah

A kid was selling magazines for his school fundraiser so I decided to order the Oprah magazine because I didn't want him to know the magazines I really read are just gossip and fashion.  The thing with the Oprah magazine is that there's really good content in there that I enjoy reading.  But I think it's super annoying that every. single. cover has Oprah's face on it.  Who does that?  Then I realized... well, I kind of do since just about every single post I put up has my face on it.  So never mind.  Oprah, keep up the good work!

Check out other Pippa-inspired looks at Two Birds' blog!

  1. I just read a post about leather jackets and now I see your jacket and it's great! the bad thing is I own zero leather jackets and now I kind of want (or need?) one. oh and the whole outfit looks gorgeous! I love that bright blue shade.

  2. Ha! My husband and I were talking about that magazine yesterday. I asked what he was going to do after she died, and he thinks that she will be like Tupac and have a 100 years of photos saved up for future covers.

  3. Haha! I love this. I love Oprah magazine too. It's one that actually takes me an hour or two to get through because I actually read everything rather than just flip through the pictures!

  4. That kind of turns that perspective around doesn't it? I've never bought one of her magazines just for that reason, and a few others. I mean the giant O is enough visual recognition to know it's her magazine. Too bad you and I don't make a dime for our faces.

  5. I never realized that, but I guess every issue does have her face on it!! I do agree the content is pretty good though!

You did a great job with this inspiration, I think I like your dress even better than Pippa's!

  6. Haha! That is hilarious. One of my co-workers' children was also selling the magazines but I forced myself not to order anything.

You did an awesome job with the inspiration photo...it is spot on!

  7. you also don't have zillions of dollars that you could pay someone to model for you every day! i have always thought it was a little narcissitic of her. yet somehow, i dont' think the same thing about fashion blogging!!

  8. LOL You know I never thought of that! I have never read Oprah magazine, but I imagine that it is a pretty good read. I always forget about these Monday link ups! Darn it! I could've had the perfect thing! Blast! At any rate, you did a great job here Vivienne!

  9. I would much much rather look at YOU than Oprah. There is an attitude. Oprah's says "hey hey hey look at me. Aren't I amazing?" Your's says "Hi there!" And we can just see that you're amazing. Keep up the good work!

I love how you matched Pippa's outfit right down to the shoes. That's some good attention to detail there. :) Personally I like your version more.

  13. The black top of your dress really looks good with the black jacket over it. It really makes the blue skirt pop even more!

And I never really thought about Oprah magazine that way. But, you're right!

  16. So true. You are always calling yourself out on these things...so funny! You are so good at having similar looks...I always go off the beaten path. Don't know why. I tried to stay with the same look including the leather moto jacket but I took it off and went with green. Oh well, maybe next time. Hope you are doing well, V. I am still trying to catch up on posts from when I was away. You always look so pretty, I think you have the perfect figure for clothing. Have a great day. dawn suitcsae vignettes

  26. I saw the picture and the post title and went.. "huh. Oprah looks really different" before it registered that it wasn't her :) But I totally know what you mean. It's so obnoxious that Oprah is on the cover of every single one of her magazines... but then again, think if she had other people on the covers, that would just be weird. But I guess she could go the Martha Stewart route and have pictures of food/decor and stuff.

Anyway, love the outfit so much. That blue is just so pretty!

  27. I like Oprah magazine too. ELLE is another favorite for a mix of fashion and quality articles on psychology, book suggestions and more. The blue in your skirt really peps up this outfit. Rock on!
