| In Bed by Toulouse-Lautrec |
Jess chose this painting for this round of the Style Imitating Art challenge. I'm thinking now that I should have just worn jammies and that would have suited the inspiration better. But I'm glad I get to share with you this fabulous shawl my sister-in-law made and gave me a long time ago as a wedding shower gift. My sister and other sister-in-law who live in Alaska just sent the orange flower wallet/clutch for my birthday. I love this thing and have been carrying it with me everywhere. But wait- this post isn't just about wonderful sisters, it's also about great brothers who take you out for adventurous pizza for your belated birthday! (And I promise this is the last time I'll talk about my b******y for twelve more months.) What do I mean by adventurous pizza, you ask? Exhibit A: sausage, mushrooms, mozzarella, tomato sauce, and soft EGG. Exhibit B: olive oil base, mozzarella, goat cheese, red onion, capers, SMOKED SALMON, and fennel. Yuuuuuum.
Have you eaten anything new and awesome lately?

You guessed it. The top was from Carmilias! And ironically today I saw the owner in a crosswalk down town Seattle. ha! We spotted each other from across the street and ended up talking for a minute in the middle of the crosswalk on Pike and 4th Ave. Too funny!
ReplyDeleteI'm glad you asked. Just today I made fried chicken with oatmeal for the crunchy part. I have this huge glass jar FULL of oatmeal (that I hate eating). I thought the only way to make it not disgusting is to deep fry it while it's wrapped around chicken (which I love more than ice scream....which is a big deal because i love ice scream more than....well...ALLLMOST more than cinnamon rolls.) a bottle of oil and a few choice secret spices later, and damn if I didn't have me some mighty fine fried chicken!
ReplyDeleteHey Vivienne, Awww to all your photos. Your shawl with lace insert top look lovely together and so do you and doggie in bed...What can be better than that! Isn't SIA great for inspiration?!
ReplyDeleteThat top is awesome! Seriously, if it ever needs a new home. . . :)
ReplyDeleteYour blog is very interesting! I love this post and the look above!

I like the look you put together based on the Lautrec painting--all the details in white top and the shawl. and the photos of you in bed with the BIG dog are wonderful. Want to try the pizza with soft egg!
ReplyDeleteYour legs look awesome in your outfit picture. I had falafel for the first time last week. A new favorite, but anything fried is good.
