Later, I went to one of my favorite thrift stores, saw this adorable, well-made leather purse for only eight bucks, and had to have it.
Then, I started thinking: do you know how often I walk my
dog? Everyday twice a day, that’s how many. Multiply two by three hundred sixty
five days in one year is seven hundred thirty dog walks. Eight dollars divided
by seven hundred thirty uses is a tiny tiny bit more than $0.01 cost per use,
my friends. Tiny smithereens, I tell you! Triumph again! Ok, it’s really the
same bag, and the same use, so it’s still the same triumph as before.
Have a great weekend!
Daily Details:
- weather:
mild but humid with occasional rain
- brown bag,
thrifted, cost $8 divided by 1 use = $8 cost per use
- blue flats, approximate current cost per wear $2
- mary
jane crocs, accpw $0.50
- jeans,
accpw $4
- top,
accpw $9
- cardigan,
accpw $5
- yellow
belt, thrifted, cost $1 divided by 3 uses = $0.33 cost per use
- black bag,
gifted (wait, does it count as gifted if I actually was given something else,
then I returned it and got this instead? Let’s say yes because I’ve done enough
math already…)

I love this look; the blue flats are to die for and what a score on the bag! (as well as a clever re-thinking on how to use it) Lucy looks like such a sweet girl =)
ReplyDeleteHaha. Love the journey your new purchase made from purse to emergency treat holder. Too cute!
ReplyDeleteAnd I love this idea of being inspired by art! Such a cool idea.
The bag is super cute. My friend got the same one, in different color, at the Glitter sale this year. I like your dog. We walk ours like...5 times a day. Dogs are spoiled.

I wish I could be as penny wise as you are when it comes to shopping. I also never realised that yellow and blue could work... must try that out

i rate your van gogh inspired outfit an A+! i want your bracelets. where did you get them? i looked, but couldn't see any details. am i blind?
ReplyDeleteOh, you're so right! In order from left to right: originally Jcrew, gift from HH's aunt, watch, originally Banana republic connected
Deletei want one too!!! that is the perfect size for poo bags, keys, and my cell. i hate trying to stick it into pockets, or like the sides of my dress or something. i walk my dogs three times a day, sometimes four depending if i come home for lunch or not, and i've loccked myself out due to dropping my keys out of a pocket before i left home.
ReplyDeleteanyhow i really love everything about this outfit. it's a perfect take on this painting and i adore the colors on you - one of my favorites for sure!
You did a great job with the Van Gogh inspiration! Lucy is so sweet, she adores you. Great idea for the small purse for dog walking. You could even fit some coffee money in there!

Great inspiration. And I can't believe you found a vintage Dooney for $ 8.00. Very stylish for walking, indeed! :) Amanda
